  I love Dr T, he's wonderful but that front office staff is unbearable. I don't know if it's the management staff's or the provider's policy that a parent cannot set up an appointment when requested but I'm tired of jumping through hoops when I attempt to make a sick call appointment. I called this morning to request an appointment with Dr T for my son who is having throat issues. I was told that I could not set up the appointment (I have a ppo insurance and I don't have any balance due), and I had to speak with the advice nurse. To make matters worse, I had to leave a message and wait for the nurse to call back. Thank God I have a ppo insurance, so I was able to find an ENT and made an appointment to have him seen by a specialist instead. How did healthcare get like this? I feel like we've become so administratively driven in healthcare that it has taken away from our abilities to care for the patients. The responsibility to care for the patient doesn't just fall on the doctor, it also falls onto the front desk personnel all the way up to the management staff making sure that the offices are adequately staffed and managed. That was the second time I've had to deal with the front office for a sick visit and had a negative outcome. From now on, I will deal only schedule the routine yearly visits with Dr T and schedule sick visits with the appropriate specialists.
